The Walk

As part of National Palliative Care Week, the Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence Foundation organises The Walk, a yearly event that supports free access to specialized end-of-life care for patients afflicted with a terminal-phase illness. Presented by Bourassa Boyer, this family event unites over 1000 walkers of all ages. A new date will soon be established and we will happily share it with you.

Make a difference, one step at a time.

Thanks to generous people like you, The Walk has raised over $629,000 since 2010. Every step makes a huge difference! By participating in this event, you’ll help countless people experience a dignified end of life, surrounded by their loved ones in a caring and comforting environment. Thanks to you, Bourassa Boyer and all affiliated partners, this event is made possible, year after year.

Much more than a simple walk, this event is an opportunity to take a step for us but also for yourself. Walk with us to support access to quality and specialized end-of-life care for those who need it in our community. Also walk for your own well-being and your health!

The cause

The Vaudreuil-Soulanges Palliative Care Residence offers specialized palliative care with dignity and respect for people of all ages afflicted with a terminal illness. Since its opening in 2010, more than 1000 patients have benefitted from quality end-of-life support. More than 89% of said patients are from the Vaudreuil-Soulanges area but we also help families from Montreal, the Suroît and Laval. Though approximately 85% of those we assist are cancer patients, we also receive those in the final stages of chronic or degenerative heart, kidney or lung disease.

How do I join The Walk?

Challenge yourself, and others, one step at a time. Build your team and aim to raise $1,000 or more per team or walk independently to raise $200 or more. You can support a team or a walker or even make a donation directly online and select Marche/The Walk.
